Jordaan June 2017

About ten years ago in South Africa, I had a dream that was very intense and was so disturbing the moment I woke up that I could not sleep and eat for almost three days. After praying for three days, the Lord gave me revelation for this dream.

Job 33:15 ‘At night when people are asleep, God speaks in dreams and visions. v16 He makes them listen to what he says, and they are frightened at his warnings. v17 God speaks to make them stop their sinning and to save them from becoming proud.’

In my dream, I could see our local church people sitting on a stage and wait for the coming of the Lord. On my right hand sits a beautiful woman with her hand on my leg. Everything inside me knows it was unacceptable because I am married and love my wife. I tried to take her hand of my leg, but could not. I just want to leave her hand a little longer, because it was so nice. In my dream, God spoke to me and told me, “If I come back for my church, and her hand is still on your leg, you will stay behind.” After that, I woke up. I started seeking the Lord and asked Him to show me who this woman was, and to remove her from me, and to destroy this which I felt was an idol. On the third day, the Lord gave me Psalm 119:36 “Turn my heart towards your statues and not towards selfish gain.” (NIV)

Eze. 33:31 “So my people crowd in to hear what you have to say, but they don’t do what you tell them to do. Loving words are on their lips, but they continue their greedy ways”. (GNB) 1 Tim 6:10 “For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil. Some have been so eager to have it that they have wandered away from the faith and have broken their hearts with many sorrows.

After reading these Scriptures, I fell face down and repented.  I know that I was in church every Sunday, I preached, I prophesied, I was a home cell leader and worship leader.  From the outside, it looked like I was on fire for the Lord, and I DID love the Lord, but in the secret place God showed me my heart – my idol was the love of money! The Lord told me that I was praying wrong for the last three days. He could not take the money away from me because I would lose my house.  He told me that His heart’s desire was to give me more money for tithes and offering, missions trips, providing for my family etc.  The Lord told me to pray the way David prayed in Psalm 119:36.  He told me that I could not change my own heart, and I needed to ask the Him to change my heart.  That is why I could not take the woman’s hand off my leg in the dream. The good news is that God answers prayers and He changes hearts. My business started growing supernaturally and the 2008 worldwide recession did not affect me at all. Words cannot describe how God sent growth to my business. Ps 37:18-19. “The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will remain forever; they are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine, they have abundance”. (ESV) The Lord put on my heart to tell business people that to seek God and pray Ps 119:36, and see what God is going to do in their lives, to ask God to show them their hearts and to reveal if hearts are turned on Jesus. My heart breaks when I see a business going under. The Lord showed me that in these last days that so many people use God’s Word to make money. 2 Cor. 2:17a “Unlike so many we do not peddle the word of God for profit.” We can go to church every Sunday, preach, prophesy, lead worship, heal the sick, be successful in our business, but if we have any idols in our life’s, we going to miss Heaven. Rom. 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable”.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick, who can understand it.” (Jer. 17:9) “The Lord searches the heart.” (Jer.17:10)

The good news is God loves us and wants all to be saved, but this is the word of God and it will never change. We need to change and come in line with the truth.

Rev 21:7 “The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.” Rev 21:8 “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

10On June 29, 2013 I took a team of 8 middle aged adults (including myself) to San Pedro Sula, Honduras.  We were off on a short-term mission trip in what has been labeled as the most violent city on the earth for the last two years.  Drug trafficking and turf wars have led to several early deaths in this city.  Pastor Wilmer Godoy from Honduras had invited us to come and minister in this city, saying that the people were hungry for God.  I’ll be honest, I don’t remember being fearful during our time in Honduras.  I think the hunger displayed by the people of this country overwhelmed any concern I had for safety.  Not that we weren’t cautious – we were.

I had spent the months ahead of this trip praying for our team’s safety and for God to help us.  I had asked all the questions I could think of prior to going, but you just don’t know what will happen until you get there.  I had never been to Honduras, although I’ve been to a few different Central American countries on short-term mission trips.  My team consisted of mature, well-grounded christians but not very experienced in mission trips.

Costa Rica Outreach June 2014

This is a testimony of some of the encounters that my family and the mission team had in Costa Rica during the summer of 2014.  I am still gathering all of the teams testimonies to put into one document but for now these testimonies reflect many of the encounters that I remember.   Altogether we saw more than 170 people healed  during these two weeks and gave several hundred prophetic words.  We ministered at seven churches, a men’s prison, a small orphanage, and everywhere we went. The Lord was with us confirming his word with signs following.  We met wonderful new friends named Andres and Jacqueline as well as ministered with a dear friend named Emerson.
