Greetings From Fortaleza, Brazil!

Its funny, from our original predictions of this trip we should be stateside by now. However, the Lord still has us here and now planning to head into Manaus and the Amazon, then continuing on in smaller groups to Guiana, Venezuela, Suriname and French Guiana before most of us fly home for the holidays. Its gonna be a busy and exciting time for us!
Our time thus far in Brazil has been quite eventful and different. We never know what the Lord may have in store for us, we’ve gone to some of the most dangerous city favelas and slums, the red-light districts and witchcraft saturated areas. Then finding ourselves working alongside Iris Fortaleza, restoring their new base and gearing up for the Amazon jungle and teaming up with my uncle, John Hayes, in Manaus.
Its amazing that it has been nearly 14 months since I left for this journey! The Lord is so faithful and good, all the time! This hasn’t been an easy journey, actually it has been pretty challenging at times but the Lord continues to amaze me, especially during the hard times. He will never let us go, He has a plan for each of us and its a good one!

Do you have any prayer requests?
Please let me know if there is anything that I can contend in prayer with you. Whether you have a test at school or a surgery coming up, or you just wanna chat, just email or facebook me!

Please Pray for:
– Safety and provision as we continue our travels
– Unity with each other and the Holy Spirit
– The people of South America that we have yet to minister to and continual fire for the ones we have been honored to visit.
– For increased vision for the team as we enter Manaus, Guiana, Suriname, French Guiana and Venezuela and later the Caribbean Islands

I hope to see some of you soon as I make my way home for the holidays. Then I continue on into the second leg of this journey to the Caribbean Islands (Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, etc.) at the beginning of 2013.

Thank you again for your love and support!

From Panama to Colombia!
Happy New Year from Bogota, Colombia!

I hope that this update finds you well and that you’ve had an amazing holiday season!  I feel that this year will be the best yet and that a season of refreshment is on its way.

A hectic border crossing day into Panama

While in Panama we teamed up with YWAM Panama City and a local church located in Gamboa, a small area outside of the city.  We were involved in all types of ministry opportunities including; village outreach, prison guard and police academy services, church services, inner city ministry and a radio talk show.  We also were attempting to get our vehicles on a boat to Cartegena, Colombia because the area between Panama and Colombia, known as the Darien Gap, is Guerilla territory and quite treacherous.

Our team leading worship at the Gamboa church

One of our first days in Panama we went into the city, to one of the most dangerous parts where even the police are afraid to go.  We weren’t really sure what we were going to do when we got there but some awesome stuff happened.  I was standing in the back of the room and was led to pray for a young man.  As I began to pray I called a few guys from our team over to help.
